Melissa and Alex’s Wedding | Guastavino’s | New York, New York
It’s with great pleasure that I at long last share Melissa and Alex’s magical wedding day story. For not only was this the most beautiful of wedding celebrations (hard to top the elegance of NYC’s Guastavino) and M&A the most charming and fun loving of couples (trust me on this) but for me it was truly a labor of love to be their wedding photographer. I was one of a few wedding photographers Virginia Beach at the ceremony because they wanted to get different shots and needed more than one to do it. Fine by me, I enjoyed working with others! I’ve had the good fortune to have known Melissa and her extraordinary family for more than two decades and during that period of time I’ve photographed Melissa and each of her sisters’ (and cousins) Bat Mitzvahs and for me they’re really like family. So while it was a long and challenging day of multiple locations including a chilly photo session on the streets of NYC, for which M&A were the ultimate troopers, it couldn’t have been more perfect on every level. I think you’ll find that we have the pictures to prove that. And now for a few choice words from Melissa and Alex.
“We met in September of 2015 on Bumble, a dating app. Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant in Midtown and we had a great night over margaritas and tacos. We had an immediate connection and ended up going out together seven times within the first ten days of ever meeting! Alex proposed while we were on vacation in Lisbon, Portugal in August of 2018.
We never expected to get married in New York City, and pictured a wedding in the suburbs. But after we saw Guastavino’s for the first time, we knew right away that it would be the perfect venue and it did not disappoint
Both of us love Manhattan in the fall so we both knew that we wanted to have our wedding around that time. Little did we know it would be nearly 30 degrees and freezing on our wedding day! But nothing could put a damper on our day. One highlight was spending some one-on-one time together as we had our first look around some of our favorite spots in Manhattan. Our ceremony was so full of love and we both danced nonstop the entire night with our friends and family at our reception. Our entire wedding day surpassed our expectations and it will forever be the best days of our lives! It was beyond perfect and there are no words to describe how special the day was.”
The day was indeed perfect, Melissa and Alex. And I’ll forever be grateful that you chose to include me in your celebration. Congratulations once again to both of you!! B
