Gabby and Will’s Wedding | Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill Mansion | Tarrytown, New York

As we slowly emerge out of these long New England winter months and prepare to enter into what’s sure to be another wonderful wedding season, it’s way overdue to look back and tell the stories of some of our past season’s celebrations. And what could be more fun than to bring you the tale of Gabby and Will’s summer wedding at one of our favorite spots, Abigail Kirsch’s historic Tappan Hill, overlooking the Hudson River. Truly a special day for us on so many levels, starting with this charming and extraordinarily fun loving couple, Gabby and Will. Adding to the excitement level on our end, as if we needed it, is the fact that I’ve known Gabby since she was a little kid on the soccer field. Seeing her grow up into this beautiful and sophisticated woman, and then having her ask us to photograph her wedding, well, it doesn’t get much better. Clearly she’s met her match in Will, and together with their cute pup Odell, unfortunately excluded from the wedding day festivities, they make for one pretty, pretty perfect little family. And now for a few words from our dear friend Gabby!

“While Will and I both went to Syracuse University, we did not meet until after college, watching a Syracuse basketball game at a bar. We dated for a few years and after going through a really tough personal event, we realized we didn’t want to live without each other. Will proposed on the water in San Francisco, and after catching my breath, I said yes.

When choosing a venue, we really wanted to get married outdoors, and what is more beautiful than Tappan Hill’s beautiful setting up on the Hudson?! On the day of the wedding it rained all around our venue, but Tappan Hill was spared for some reason. It ended up being such a special day with our friends and family exuding love. The band was amazing and we spent all night dancing with our friends and family. The night exceeded our expectations and life since has been pretty wonderful.”

Congratulations, once again, to both of you Gabby and Will. What a treat it was to have been there to document your wedding day! Also, an added thanks to our good friend Ed Steinberg of Abigail Kirsch, who always makes our time at Tappan Hill a pleasure and a success.
