As winter starts showing its blustery finest here in Connecticut, even before we can officially call it “winter”, it seems to be the best time to sit and relive some of our many favorite moments from this wedding season almost past. And what a season of fabulous events it was with our travels taking us from Philadelphia to Brooklyn to the vineyards of Connecticut and New York. The friends we’ve made and the celebrations we’ve had the opportunity to document have once again made for a year truly worth sharing. And what better way to tell the story of Anna and Zach’s perfect in every way summer wedding than in Anna’s own words.
“Zach and I have known each other since middle school, both growing up in Fairfield, however, we did not become close friends until we went to college together. We both majored in psychology and had a lot of classes together, including biology which involved painful lab hours and a lot of time in the library. We bonded through this and eventually became very good friends, in fact, inseparable! Finally, we officially started dating in our senior year. Four years later, after moving into the city, Zach proposed in one of our favorite spots in Manhattan, Pier 25 in TriBeCa.
We had a while to plan a wedding. We set a date right away for June 29th, giving us a year and a half to plan. We knew we wanted the wedding to be in our hometown and for the ceremony to be at First Church Congregational, the church in which I grew up (and that my grandparents went to). We also knew we wanted the reception to take place at my family’s club, The Country Club of Fairfield. From there, I really wanted to make an effort to select fairly local vendors. We were so happy with every one of our choices!
Our wedding day was beautiful. We lucked out with practically the only nice weather day of the week. We really wanted the day to just feel like a fun celebration, and it really did. The band was quite entertaining and everyone danced the night away! We had a great time and are so happy we have fabulous photographs to relive it all for years to come.”
Thanks for sharing Anna. And if the day wasn’t already perfect enough from the amazing weather (take note, if you haven’t already of that “magic light” that graced us towards sunset with Anna and Zach out on the golf course) to the sheer magnificence of the Country Club of Fairfield, at the very moment that we were out on the course taking these pictures a mere stone’s throw away, on the beach overlooking the club was another very special couple, our dear friends Alison and Steve with Steve making his own proposal of marriage and completing an all around extraordinary day of love and commitment. Congratulations to all!
